New Blogs and Websites added to Blogroll

On August 3 we introduced a Blogroll to this Blog. At that time we selected 4 Blogs we thought particularly useful in the context of Precious Metals, Mining, and Oil & Gas Research and Investing. We noted at the time we had reviewed over 250 ‘Economic Related’ blogs prior to selecting those first 4. Having since reviewed many more blogs and websites, in the last few days we have added 7 more to our Blog List. This Post gives a brief outline of each of them in the order they appear in our Blogroll.

1. ‘Calculated Risk‘, a blog we have labeled ‘Finance & Economics‘. This blog is written by a two people, the first claiming to be a retired public company executive with a background in investing, finance and economics, the second claiming to be a former bank officer and mortgage lending specialist. This blog covers wide-ranging economic topics. It appears to get substantial volumes of traffic, and in our view has a great deal of relevant content. New posts appear virtually every day.

2. ‘Economists’ Forum‘, a Financial Times (of London, U.K.) blog we have labeled ‘Financial Times Blog - Debate Among Leading World Economists‘. This blog is a forum where where people the Financial Times claims to be some of the world’s leading economists (their names are listed on the blog) debate issues raised in Financial Times newspaper columns. New posts appear virtually every day.

3. ‘Investing in Gold‘, a link to a sub-set of the Financial Times website we have labeled ‘Financial Times, News Service‘. This website sub-set provides frequent postings of current articles related to gold and gold prices. New entries appear virtually every day.

4. ‘Metal Markets‘, a website we have labeled ‘Precious & Base Metals - Daily News & Information‘. This website hosts a news service set up in November, 2004 to provide latest news and information on the precious and base metals commodities markets. New entries appear virtually every day.

5. ‘Oil Marketer‘, a website we have labeled ‘Crude Oil - Daily News & Information‘. This website hosts a news service set up in January, 2005 to provide latest news and information on oil commodities markets, and to report especially on movements on the Nymex, Brent, and general stories on oil production and output. New entries appear virtually every day.

6. ‘Setser’s Blog: Follow the Money‘, a blog we have labeled ‘Economic Council on Foreign Relations - Nonpartisan Data & Analysis‘. Brad Setser is a research associate at the Global Economic Governance Programme at University College, Oxford. This blog deals with broad economic topics. New posts appear frequently.

7. ‘The Goldwatcher‘, a blog we have labeled ‘by John Katz, Independent Analyst - co-author of ‘The Goldwater’ (2008)‘. Based in London, U.K., Katz describes himself as an analyst, strategist, and financial writer. With Frank Holmes (CEO and Chief Investment Officer of U.S. Global Investors), Katz wrote the very recently published book ‘The Goldwatcher‘, which book we recommend to anyone interested in movements in the gold markets. The Goldwatcher blog includes infrequent posts by John Katz that we consider well worth reading.

As we develop this blog, we are spending considerable time searching for and selecting what we consider relevant, high quality blogs and websites related to the research of, and investment in, precious metals and precious metals, mining and oil & gas stocks. We hope you find the blogs and websites we include in our Blogroll useful.
